We’re well into the New Year, and if you’re like me, it’s easy to fall behind schedule pretty quickly. That’s ok, as long as you’re focusing on what’s most important, first. And in keeping with first things first, one of my Bits of Bliss this year came from a new book by nutritionist Theresa Albert, called “Ace Your Health”.
After hearing about her “Magic Muesli” from many devotees, I decided to try it myself and see what the magic was all about. According to Albert, "When you begin the day with the simple pleasure of caring for yourself from the inside out, your day just goes much more smoothly". A great philosophy; and so I mixed up some natural yogurt, blueberries, apple sauce, hemp, chia seeds, almonds, cinnamon, and some black currant jam…it was very smooth…and awesome. As was my own magical moment a couple of days later. You’ll have to read the book to find out for yourself.
One of the first things I let slip as I focused on new priorities is the fact that I somehow forget my hair colour doesn’t take care of itself. But trying to fit in a colour treatment session can be tough. My hairdresser (Miraculous Miranda) advised me to try “Tween”. I said “Tween? I have one of those – you want her to dye my hair?” But what Tween is, is an amazing colour stick that you run down your part, and around your hairline, for a quick fix in between real colouring. It washes out, so you’ll need to repeat, but it’s perfect for that night out, or big meeting, which falls a day before the long awaited appointment.
