The latest Courage to Lead evening had everyone seeing green.
On April 23 at Downtown Porsche, 125 guest arrived for a panel discussion on "Women building cities". Design icon Debbie Travis and radio icon Erin Davis were joined by Andrea Kantelberg, Canada's foremost sustainable interior designer, and Adam Shearer, President and CEO of California Closets Toronto.
Led by Women's Post managing editor Justine Connelly, all four participants engaged in a friendly conversation about women and design. Nevertheless, once the subject of sustainability was introduced, interests were piqued.
Andrea and Adam advised the audience on the benefits of a sustainable and healthy lifestyle. Erin brought up the practical side of the eco-friendly issue: the costs, the aesthetics, and the affect these changes might have on “serial movers”. Best known for her home decorating savvy, Debbie was able to address both sides of the debate, reasoning that in the end it will be the balance between sustainability and practicality that will thrive.
What began as a discussion about “Women building cities” ended as a discussion of “Building healthy cities".
The evening was filled with stimulating conversation, exciting door-prizes, delicious hors d'oeuvres from Christine Bib Catering, and wine from WineOnline.ca. Special thanks to sponsor SpaMedica, and to Helen Ching-Kircher, president and COO of Downtown Fine Cars Inc., and her entire team at Downtown Porsche for hosting a fabulous evening.
