Going Postal

By R. Jacqueline D'Souza

Without a doubt the recent postal strike has become a source of frustration for countless residents, business owners and postal workers themselves. Canada post workers are now locked out by management, and thus unable to work. For this reason, we are left to question who is responsible for the strike and the resulting inconvenience? Is it the workers who placed demands earlier on?  The Union who pushed their demands? Or, Canada Post?

The strike is costing Canadians millions of dollars and Canada Post approximately $100 million. And so, rumors have surfaced that Ottawa will impose "back to work" legislation, which will supposedly be implemented shortly. Nevertheless, only time will tell what is to come from this strike.

In the interim it is comforting to know that modern technology should be able to handle the ramifications of this strike, whether by way of e-mail, fax, phone or facebook. Take advantage of technological and social media resources to improve your skill set, and to get your information to the recipient on time.
