Ladies and gentlemen. I have a little nugget of advice that might make your lives a little simpler: STOP TRYING TO UNDERSTAND EACH OTHER.

I hear it over and over again: He said this so I said that and now we aren't talking; or I asked him to do this and we got in a fight and it's still not done.

...berry that is.

First I swore I would never join Twitter. For any of you who read my last post you would know that ideological stance didn't last.

Next, I said I had no desire for a Blackberry/Palm Pilot/any phone "smarter" than I am.

Two weeks to the day of me first signing on to Twitter, I purchased a Blackberry. (What is it with me, Fridays, and instant gratification?)

Gary Webster, General Manager of the TTC, sent a memo out to staff over the weekend, basically issuing an ultimatum for employees to start adhering to the standards in place. Webster wrote of his getting “increasingly tired of defending the reputation of the TTC.” He also spoke to his exasperation over constantly having to explain “what is acceptable and what is not.”

I never thought I'd see this day. I...have joined...Twitter (gasp).

Like my colleague Joelle Litt (who's recent posting Twitter me do, Twitter me don't reflected my own feelings toward this 140 character craze) I just didn't see the point or need to be on Twitter. I was easily accessible by phone, two eMail accounts as well, and anyone I consider a friend even knows where I live.

Well on Friday, while I was under the influence - and unfortunately I don't mean alcohol, because at least that would justify my actions - I joined Twitter and became a "Tweep."

So my dad forwards me joke emails fairly regularly. Sometimes they're hilarious...other times not so much. Today's was bang on! I am posting it here for your enjoyment...heavily censored (my boss is running for mayor - in case you didn't know - and I don't want to give her competitors any extra ammunition.)

So we are now about three weeks into this "glorious" season called winter. For those of you who curse the daily decline in temperature and steady accumulation of that fluffy white stuff, I have one thing to say: RIGHT ON!

I hate winter. Pretty much everything about it. The only good thing I can say about this three month stretch is that it supports my love of a sedentary existence. It also provides sufficient excuses for binge eating ("I need the extra insulation to keep warm.")

...NEEDS TO STOP!

I get it. You're women. You were born with the theatrical gene. But seriously, ladies...can we try to move past high school and learn to get along? Let me preface the remainder of this post with this disclaimer: yes, men, boys, and the like are guilty of dramatic crimes against humanity, but let us be honest with each other - women are the primary culprits of this plague.

So I'm a bit of a design junkie. I say "a bit" because I can be very close-minded as to what I would deem good and innovative design, and I always seem to be inspired by the same type of composition and stylization.
