Shredding It: Weekend Recap II


A 20-something intern at Women’s Post who loves food, chronicling her way through the world of working out and the 30 Day Shred.

Here is a recap of the pas weekend and my ability to finally do 3D lunges.

Friday: Food wrecked (Day 13)
As I mentioned in the last post, Friday was a special occasion and I went out to Sultan’s Tent to eat an anniversary dinner and catch a belly-dancing show. Ladies and gentleman, I have never eaten so much in my life. I was so full. For those who don’t know, the menu is a four-course meal. Plus, because it was our anniversary, our waiter brought out a little Fez hat dessert for us, on top of the crème brulee and sweet fruits we had already ordered. I was absolutely wrecked by the end.

When I got home, I crashed on my bed for a good half hour, hoping my body would digest the food before I exploded. It was absolutely fantastic but in my head, I heard Jillian telling me to get back on the Jillian Michaels’ 30 Day Shred.

Saturday: Bench it (Day 14)
I worked out on Saturday for my thirteenth workout early during the day again and, again, I was tired getting through it. I decided to take a step back and do level 1 again as a warm-up. I ended up doing both level 1 and 2. I was down in my basement working out for a long time. I also have an old bench press that’s been rotting down there that I took an advantage of on Saturday. I did a whole lot of leg lifts.  

Sunday: Hey Mr. DJ (Day 15)
I went back to level 2 on Sunday for the fourteenth workout and got through it fully. Yay. Take that 3D lunges. I decided to mute the DVD this time and tried doing the workout with my own music in the background. It worked and I highly recommend it. It kept my mind off Jillian yelling at me to do more reps and instead, I rocked out to Rihanna’s new single What’s My Name. I might make a Shred playlist. I’ll share it tomorrow. Other than that, nothing major to report. To be a debbie downer, I still don’t feel like my body has changed though. Damn you Jillian, when will I see results?

 

Note: The blogs are a day ahead, meaning Day 15 blog is about the 14th workout, Day 14 blog is about the 13th workout, and so on. In case people are confused. It happened because my first blog, Shredding it: Day 1, was a little intro prior to the first workout.  I probably should have just called it the Intro blog. But we're all smart cookies though. We get it, right?
