A Model and an Extraterrestrial, Again

Yesterday night was the finale for Australia's Next Top Model Cycle Five; the competition was won by Tahnee Atkinson who out-modeled Cassi Van Den Dungen. Last night was also the season three premiere of Torchwood, a BBC produced science fiction drama.
Although, I was personally too busy to watch them, seeing as I was re-watching old episodes of Beverly Hills, 90210, the internet was certainly a buzz. On Twitter people were contemplating who would win ANTM, Tahnee or Cassi. Others were on the verge of excitement to see their favorite extraterrestrial-hunting officers appear again for only one short week as a mini-series.
I don’t understand why we need another modeling show. I think Tyra can handle her own, she doesn’t need other Next Top Models around the world and neither do I. And having another CSI-esque detective drama is also unnecessary. I can’t even list you all the crime investigation dramas out there already, from CSI: NY to Bones. Since when do people need to watch re-watch Miami Vice, if so I am sure there are many re-runs on TVtropolis.
It’s like a burger. There’s the Big Mac, the Quarter Pounder, the Papa Burger, the Whopper, the list really can go on. They are all the same. Just like Australia’s Next Top Model, Britain’s Next Top Model, Canada’s Next Top Model. And CSI: NY, CSI: Miami, Bones, Numbers, Torchwood etc...
