twitter me do, twitter me don't

February 2, 2010 - 1:29pm — by Joelle Litt

No. You will not find me on Twitter. When it comes to social networking, I guess you could call me a late bloomer.

At the moment, I just don't see a need to sign myself up for yet another website. How many different ways do I really want people to contact me? You can e-mail me - - to two different e-mail addresses, you can text me on my phone, you can send me a facebook message, you can write on my wall! Yes, I am still reachable by the good ol' telephone, and I even still check my mailbox from time to time.

A Glimpse into Design

January 27, 2010 - 3:54pm — by Joelle Litt

This past weekend the Metro Toronto Convention Centre played host to the Interior Design Show. Although I was there for the most part of my weekend, unfortunately I was not able to see much of the happenings.

I was helping out with INK's latest project, partnered up with Lifetime and designed by Munge Leung, Bisha (bisha.com).

Dear Cigarettes,

January 19, 2010 - 5:14pm — by Joelle Litt

Dear Cigarettes,

I love you.

I am deeply saddened that I feel like our time together is drawing to a close. That is not to say that I will not think about you every moment we are apart. It will be a challenge, I know.

It will probably pain you to hear, but I have met another. A few, actually. I am having difficulty wrapping my head around which one to choose.

There is the Electronic Cigarette...I know that there is something going on there;
And then there are the Acupuncture sessions, all of my friends keep telling me wonderful things about that one.

Vogue, we know you meant no harm.

December 14, 2009 - 4:13pm — by Joelle Litt

But, harm you did. Old news, perhaps, but the blackface fourteen page spread in French Vogue's October issue a few months past caused quite a stir amongst its readers, and the rest of the media world.
If you missed it...here is a peek...

Bonne Cop Bad Cop?

December 3, 2009 - 10:00am — by Joelle Litt

Our city consists of many types of individuals and forces keeping moral standards up to par; firefighters, paramedics, doctors, everyday citizens being ‘decent’ and socially responsible…and, last but not least, police officers. So, when an issue arises within our local police force that points to moral corruption, one can only wonder, what has happened to the very people that are supposed to keep our streets safe? To serve and protect; do these words really have any meaning?

drunk in mongolia...

December 1, 2009 - 10:56am — by Joelle Litt

As I was sorting through old bins from an ex-boyfriend's storage unit the other day, I came across some missing photographs of mine from a trip that I had been on across China, including Inner Mongolia...(okay, so I've never been to Mongolia persay, but Inner Mongolia is pretty close, and the two happen to share the Gobi Desert).

Anyway, looking through these photographs, I was taken right back to that afternoon that I spent in Inner Mongolia...

Walking on Sunshine...

November 24, 2009 - 10:13am — by Joelle Litt

Looking for a shoe a little bit outside of the ordinary?

Yesterday I had the opportunity to work with some absolutely incredible Canadian-based fashion designers at a photoshoot that I styled at the Liberty Grand.

Among these designers, Evan Biddell, Pat McDonagh, Reva Mivasagar, Jessica Biffi, Lucian Matis, Monika Peczeli...but I must say the one addition to this story that kept everything 'simply grounded' was a shoe designer by the name of Colin Campbell.

An artist with an extraordinary sense of vision and design, he is a quiet force in Canadian fashion.
