Dianne Carmichael

Bio

Women's Post Contributor Dianne Carmichael has extensive executive management experience in both professional services and growth companies across a number of industries. She has over 25 years of business experience that started with a marketing and sales management career with leading packaged goods companies, including Proctor & Gamble, RJ Reynolds and Gillette. This was followed by the rapid development of an investment management career focused on ultra high net worth Canadians and leading to her promotion to Vice President, TD Waterhouse, Private Investment Advice. Ms. Carmichael went on to create and spearhead a wealth management platform, including an MFDA dealer, IDA securities, MGA insurance brokerage and Portfolio Management, which led to the highly successful launch of Worldsource Wealth Management Inc. (subsidiary of Guardian Capital Group Ltd.), where Ms. Carmichael was Chairman and CEO, overseeing 4 operations nationally, 3 reporting Presidents and over $5 billion in assets under administration. In 2004 Dianne’s father was diagnosed with cancer, affecting her profoundly and ultimately leading her to a major career and personal focus shift – one which would allow her the ability to advocate for patients and contribute to the highest level of quality of care both in Canada and globally. Currently, Dianne is President of Best Doctors Canada Inc. This role has provided her a platform, beyond the day-to-day business operations, to network at the highest levels of Government, Medical Communities and Corporate Canada in order to further initiatives such as EHR, Quality, and Patient Advocacy. Dianne has been interviewed in the media extensively about health issues; most recently profiled on the cover of Women’s Post magazine and profiled in the Find Your Great Work series which highlights major international business leaders. She will be recognized in November as one of the Women’s Post Top 20 Business Women in Canada. Dianne is a graduate of the University of Waterloo in addition to having earned a Business Administration/Marketing diploma from John Abbott College. She holds numerous investment industry designations including CSC Honours, CPH, CIM 1, PFP, Officers and Directors. On a community services front, Dianne is past Chairman of the Board of Yellow Brick House, a refuge for abused women and their children, which she held for four years. She has been involved in fundraising for many charitable organizations. Dianne currently sits on the Advisory Board of the Canadian Association of People Centred Health, CAPCH and York University Department of Health
